About the Event

Celebrate the First day of Spring!

 Sunday March 20th 11am - 3pm

Biome will be hosting our first PLANT SWAP!

RULE #1

RSVP : Mandatory :

This first and foremost is a SWAP : Not a SALE. So bring Plants!!

If you don't have any plants bring your venmo or a few dollar bills.

A few vendors will be selling $5 and Under Plants. We will be raffling off a few amazing plants as well!

It's okay if you only have a few Spider plant babies, bring them... but just know its going to be hard to swap them out (lol)

Rule #2

Include the Genus, Common Name, and General Care Instructions for every plant : ESPECIALLY if its for the Free Community Table. If You Don't Know What You Have, It's OK to Admit That, If you're not sure..... label it as such but include how you have been caring for it!

If you have FREE PLANTS to offer the community please drop them off the days prior to the shop to help with the flow of event starting (no mad dash to the free table at the beginning of the event etc).

Rule #2

The plants must stand up on their own. Go to Goodwill  and pick up some cheap clear shot glasses! Or ask around to local gardening stores for small 1x1 pots.  Go to the co-op and pick up some heavy duty boxes, cut the boxes down a few inches so that you can walk around easily with your plants and have something to put your new plants in!

Rule #3

If you are a plant hoarder and have more than 25+ plants to swap please have a table

Message us and we can accommodate you with a table so you don't have to lug them plants around. We are allowing up to 15 people with tables. Email us if you would like to have a table :  Events@Biomeslowcraft.com

Set up for Table Participants will be 9am-10:30am on Sunday.

Rule #4

Be respectful, be patient.

There will be some amazing and rare plants available, if you are interested in those but only brought spider plants, they might not be interested in trading - but they could be interested in selling. Haggling is acceptable, being pushy and not taking no for an answer is not.

Rule #5

HAVE FUN!

Money that will be raised by RSVPing will go to Gallatin Valley Farm to School!

About Gallatin Valley Farm to School:

At Gallatin Valley Farm to School, our programs connect kids, families, and schools in meaningful ways to food and community and provide a foundation of critical thinking and empowerment. We create transformative educational experiences through the joyful exploration of local food, cooking, and gardening, while embracing the values of nourishment and stewardship.

Local food education and procurement play a valuable role in invigorating the local food economy of the Gallatin Valley while systematically addressing climate change, public health and social inequality.

By creating engaging learning opportunities and connections to the local food system, we inspire young people to learn, create, explore, and grow a healthy future for themselves and their community.

“From little seeds grow mighty trees.”  -Aeschylus

Gallatin Valley Farm to School is a Bozeman-based nonprofit that connects kids and families with healthy local food in the garden, classroom, cafeteria community through:

  • Hands-on experiences in classrooms and school garden that immerse students in cooking, gardening, food, and nutrition,
  • Community programs, like camps and family cooking nights, that help kids and families appreciate, grow, cook, and enjoy healthy local food, and
  • Outreach and work within the community to increase awareness and improve the school food environment.

What our kids eat matters, and connecting kids, families, and schools with hands-on learning, nutrition, and community is more important now than ever.
