About the Event
Draping Clay : Lauren White
This workshop is meant for teens and adults, beginners and those beyond are welcome.
The focus is to connect with the natural material and how we can make a functional piece from an abundant earth material. We will be creating a draping piece where we use gravity and the shape from another form as our base. We will use plants to make imprints and textures on our pieces.
There will be a selection of 3 glazes that you may choose from to finish your piece with. The piece will go through a firing process after the workshop and will be available for pick-up when completed.
About Lauren White!
Growing up surrounded by gardeners and artists, Lauren White's work is inspired by her curiosity of how we can work closely with nature and exist in harmony with what's naturally occurring around us. Lauren best portrays her pull back to nature through her artistic ways, using nature to create useful yet beautiful pieces. She strives to not create waste or add toxic ingredients to the earth but rather keep her materials in the loop of the natural cycles in life. @explaurenarts
